Rich concentration of fruit, black cherry & currants in the nose, ripe berries on the palate, a touch of American oak creates a lingering finish. Medium body pairs terrifically with beef Valdehermoso, ’07 Roble, Ribera del Duero, Spain 8. An absolute treat for the palate… sensuous dark fruit flavors followed by earth notes & smooth tannins. - great with steak, even better with duck Bartlett, ,‘05 Sangiovese/Blueberry, Gouldsborough, Me 9. Spicy, earthy aromatics with hints of clove spice and rich berries on the palate…velvety w/great extraction. Bob and Cathy Bartlett produce the most sophisticated fruit wines in the country and the Sangiovese blend is one of my favorites from them. -Derek |
